VIDALIA — The Franklin Parish girls were out for revenge.
After losing to Vidalia in the Sicily Island Tournament, the Franklin Parish Lady Patriots came out ready to avenge their loss and took a 50-45 win home with them Friday night.
Vidalia led by four after the first quarter and three at the half.
In the third quarter things changed.
A rhythm was hard to come by for the Lady Vikings, and they let the lead slip away in the third quarter and wouldn’t see it again.
The Lady Patriots’ comeback was led by Chasity Roberts who found a way to score throughout the game.
Roberts led Franklin Parish with 24. Jasmine Whitley added 13.
Rachael Wagoner led the Lady Vikings with 15 points and Tyshica Rodgers added 10.

Defensive problems were the name of the game as Vidalia dropped its third game of the year against the Franklin Parish Patriots.
“We have to do a better job of blocking out and playing better defensively overall,” Vidalia head coach Robert Sanders said.
Vidalia kept within reach for most of the game until the Patriots built a 13 point lead in the third quarter.
“We knew we had to stop their shooters and move the ball,” Franklin Parish head coach Wystee Kerry said. “We played good overall.”
The Vikings came back and sliced the lead to four, but couldn’t regain the lead.
“We had poor shot selection,” Sanders said.
Vidalia played fast paced and were quick to shoot without letting the plays develop.
The Patriots used the Vikings’ mistakes to their advantage and capitalized on the turnovers, scoring 20 points in the third quarter and 23 points in the fourth quarter.
JC Winn led the Patriots with 25 points while Brandon Sims added 14.
In double digits for the Vikings were Brandon Hawkins with 17 and Gary Stewart with 10.
