NATCHEZ — Services for Lorenza R. “Bear” Jordan, 52, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at River Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel No. 2 in Kingston with the Rev. Walter L. Smith Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Jordan was born Sept. 20, 1959, the son of Cornelius Jordan Jr. and Iola S. Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Earline Thomas and Cassandra Jordan; grandparents, Allen and Ella Snearl and Cornelius Sr. and Elnora Jordan; mother-in-law, Celestine Butler; and one nephew, Damien C. Jordan.
Survivors include his loving wife of five years, Yvonne Butler Jordan; father-in-law, Mark Andrew Butler of Natchez; two stepdaughters, Twana and Felicia Butler, both of Natchez; six step-grandchildren, Breante, Dylan, Taylor, Tyler, Tyrese, Travis and Kennedie Butler, all of Natchez; five sisters, Barbara Thomas, Glenda Jordan, Stephanie Louis, all of Addis, La., Diane Thomas of Plaquemine, La., and Melissa Brown and husband, Gregory, of Baker, La.; five brothers, Milton Thomas and Michael Jordan and wife, Delores, all of Plaquemine, Donald Thomas Sr. and wife, Denise, of Brusly, La., Cedric Jordan and wife, Linda, of Baton Rouge and Kevin Jordan Sr. and wife, Kathy, of Alabama; five sisters-in-law, Charlotte Nickson and husband, Tom, and Patricia Alexander and husband, Rodney, of Houston, Texas, Dorothy Myles of Natchez, Lutricha Parker and husband, Larry, and Lavonne Travis and husband, Ronald, of Poplarville; four brothers-in-law, Marcus Butler and wife, Cynthia, George Butler and wife, Daphne, Andrew Butler and wife, Zina, all of Houston, and Reginald Butler of Natchez; three aunts, Barbara Adams, Brenda Jordan and Doris Jordan; seven uncles, Leonard Snearl Sr. of Alice, La., the Rev.
