NATCHEZ — Absentee voting for the Democratic primary in the third Congressional District election is ongoing.
Voters who will be unable to vote on election day — June 1 — due to health reasons or planned travel may vote in the Adams County Circuit Clerk’s office at the courthouse until noon May 29.
The clerk’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 29.
Voters can also call and request a ballot by mail, Circuit Clerk Eddie Walker said.
Because the last work day before the election is Memorial Day, voters should be sure to handle their mail-in ballots early, Walker said.
Ballots must be received at the post office before June 1.
Candidates in the Democratic primary are Joel L. Gill of Pickens, James D. Jackson of Brandon and Shawn O’Hara of Hattiesburg.
