Great week leads to more in Miss-Lou

Almost everyone who tried found something to like in the Miss-Lou last week.
The week was full of good news for the community and good events to enjoy with family and friends. Let’s review a few details.
- The City of Vidalia announced the addition of a new employer — Advance Building Supplies. The company is expected to create 25 to 30 new jobs and begin construction in 30 days.
- Bridget the kitten was rescued from the Mississippi River Bridge thanks to the help of a few passersby and the city’s utility department. It’s great to know we live in a community that values even the smallest life.
- Concordia Bank is working hard to teach area children one of the most important lessons rarely covered by the textbooks — money management. The bank’s “Banking at School” project lets students start saving now.
- Deputy Buddy Frank is back on the job at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, after sitting out three months to recover from a gunshot wound he suffered in the line of duty. We are so happy Frank is healthy enough to protect us again.
- The annual Cathedral School Fall Festival and Jim Bowie Festival filled the weekend for area residents looking for a good time. Thanks to all the volunteers who made these events great.
We’ll bid farewell to September soon, welcoming our favorite Natchez month of all, October, with its Great Mississippi River Balloon Race. Get your rest now; the fun keeps coming.
