NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Redia Jean Williams, 56, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Baton Rouge General Hospice Unit, will be at 4 p.m. today at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church.
Ms. Williams was born Dec. 29, 1954, in Natchez, the daughter of James Williams Sr. and Sadie Hunter Williams. She was a 1972 graduate of North Natchez High School.
Redia was a retired educator, having taught math in a number of counties throughout Mississippi. Her legacy of excellence in education is evident in her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest brother, Authur Michelle Williams.
Survivors include two daughters, Etricia Williams and Tannette Williams; four brothers, Freddie Williams and wife, Rosalind, James Williams and wife, Darlene, Douglas Williams and Leon Williams and wife, Sharon; four grandchildren, Logan, Ayriel, Kaleb and Ashton Williams; a number of nieces and nephews; and a lifelong and best friend, Indiana Devine.
