Where is Mikey and his great cereal?

Have you noticed lately the national television advertising that is perpetrated upon the public? Some of it is so outlandish that it’s hard to understand what they are advertising. I saw one the other day that had a crazy-acting individual in a corral with two horses looking on and it was advertising a slot machine in a casino. How does that work?
I’ve also calculated that if you switch car insurance companies enough, before long they will be paying you to be insured by their company. It appears that every company can save you $400 to $500 a year if you switch, so if your bill is $1,000 a year, you can switch two times and pay nothing — right?
Then there are the weight loss advertisements. Every one of them is clinically tested and doctor approved or touted by a slender actress or actor who lost mega amounts of weight in only a few weeks. “Just take our drug or buy our food and we guarantee you will lose a dress or pants size in just 30 days or your money back.”
Don’t get me wrong, there are a few good ads on television but very few will stick with you like the old radio ads before TV like the Wild Root Cream Oil jingle or “Brylcream — a little dab will do you.” Some of the older TV ads are very memorable like the kids’ cereals ads from a few years ago but some of the current ads are just weird. But that’s just me!
