NATCHEZ — Natchez Regional Medical Center’s plan for the future includes several options including sale or lease of the hospital, filing for bankruptcy, transitioning to a non-profit or reducing staff and expenses, the board attorney said Tuesday.
The hospital board met with the Adams County Board of Supervisors behind closed doors Tuesday to discuss their financial situation.
After the meeting board attorney Walter Brown said the hospital is in the red financially and did not make a profit in 2007 as they reported last year. They do have outstanding debt, and discussed making a new business plan at Tuesday’s meeting.
