NATCHEZ — The National Council of Negro Women —Natchez Section will host the 35th annual state conference Friday through Sunday at the Isle of Capri Casino hotel.

The theme is in keeping with the national theme “United to Serve.”

The local section has planned workshops that focus on issues of interest to women including women’s health. The workshops will start at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Youth workshops will be on careers, finance and cosmetics and will be at the same time. An oratorical contest for youth is also a part of the conference.

Local women with NCNW affiliations are asked to participate. A nominal registration fee will be charged.

The conference will also host a gala banquet. The guest speaker will be Zelmarine Murphy, Mrs. Alcornite 2007 and a Vicksburg native.
