TWENTY YEARS AGO — Thanks to wins by Jim Ferguson in boys singles and Jesselyn Reed in girls singles and a couple of forfeits, Trinity’s tennis team defeats Brookhaven Academy 9-0 to improve to 5-5.
TEN YEARS AGO — Former Briarfield offensive coordinator Jay W. Murphree is named the new head football coach at Huntington as he replaces Sonny Clay, who left in March after a contract dispute with the school.
FIVE YEARS AGO — Zach Rogel goes 4-for-4 with a double and Walt Ketchings goes 3-for-5 with a triple as the Trinity Saints defeat the Huntington Hounds 8-6 to stay alive in the MPSA District 7-A Tournament.
