Should we dare say ‘Lucky Lee?’

For nearly all of us, the latest storm to visit the Miss-Lou was a blessing, not a curse.
Slow moving Tropical Storm Lee delivered a baby’s punch when he moved through this weekend. But more significant than his blow was his gift — rain.
A much-needed drenching brought with it cooler temperatures and beautiful skies late Monday and Tuesday.
Still, area emergency responders and utility workers were ready and waiting for Lee.
Thanks certainly goes to the workers from Entergy and Southwest Mississippi Electric Power who kept the outages at a minimum. Everything’s better when the lights and air conditioner are working.
Lee was nice, for the most part, but we won’t disrespect his cousins to come. Hurricane season is a dangerous time in these parts.
Thankfully the Miss-Lou has been spared in recent years, but we don’t know what the future may hold.
The season lasts until the end of November, so use friendly Lee as a reminder to stock up on essentials, keep the flashlights handy and make an emergency plan for your family.
A little preparedness now can save heartache later.
