Try this sand boil solution

I think I have a solution for the problem of sand boils when the river level is high.

Take the old oil field tanks that we have around here and cut the tops and bottoms off. Take a cutting torch and make a six-inch saw tooth edge around the bottom. On the top, weld a brace across the top with a hook on it so a helicopter can lift it up and drop it over a sand boil.

The weight of the tank will drive it into the ground enough to seal off the water that will flow into it. When it fills level with the river, the flowing water will stop.
