NATCHEZ — An impromptu meeting was called by Natchez citizen Eledra Dunkley, where several aldermen candidates and one mayoral hopeful were invited Thursday night.
Dan Dillard, Ward 6, Jim Sanders, Ward 1, Tim Sessions, Ward 5, Johnny Franklin, Ward 2, Mark Fortenbery, Ward 5, Ward 4 incumbent Theodore “Bubber” West and mayoral candidate Chick Graning showed up to the meeting that was slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers.
After waiting nearly 45 minutes for the meeting to begin, several candidates left, believing the meeting had been canceled and they had not been notified.
A handful of public citizens also attended the meeting.
Before it began, the media was notified that the meeting would no longer be public and was asked to leave.
