Keith and Tammy Barfoot of Monterey announce the engagement of their daughter, Mia Mikel Barfoot to Mitchell Gene Aswell, son of Reggie and Bobby Aswell of Monterey and Ricky and Cindy Butts of Marion, La.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Monterey High School and is employed by Gregg Dental Center in Vidalia.

She is the granddaughter of the late Segrest and Bessie Wesberry of Ferriday, Howard Barfoot of Brookhaven and the late Pearline Barfoot of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Monterey High School and is employed by Nabors Drilling.

He is the grandson of the late Jack Aswell, Ted and Shirley Harris, all of Monterey and Debbie Adams of Jonesville.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the Natchez Convention Center. A reception will immediately follow.

Family and friends are invited. Formal invitations will be sent to out-of-town guests only.
