NATCHEZ — Services for Bennie Flewelling, 73, of Madison, who died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, in Ridgeland, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Broome officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Flewelling was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Macwahoc, Maine, the son of Benjamin J. Flewelling and Beulah Rogerson Flewelling.

Ben served in the U.S. Air Force where he served three years in France. He was an avid traveler with the Traceway Travel Club with a number of friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madison. During the time he lived in Natchez, he was a member of the First Baptist Church Natchez.

Ben is survived by his wife, Ann Smith Flewelling; three sons, Bennie, Richard and Douglas Flewelling; one daughter, Linda Cole; Morgan Cargill, who he raised as his own; five sisters, Betty Palmer, Gloria Perkins, Francis Thibodeau, Teta Pottle and Janie Zimmerman; three brothers, Philip, Ricky and David Flewelling; six stepchildren, Sherry Carter, Gail Gamberi, Cathy Prescott, Sharla Marks, Maxie and William Dale Smith, all who loved him dearly.

Pallbearers will be Jay Boynton, Ronnie Gamberi, George Prescott, Maxie Smith, William Smith and Phil Marks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Stein and the First Baptist Church Bill Rice Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
