NATCHEZ — Services for Vernon Eric “Wolf” Bernard, 49, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Marvel officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Bernard was born June 2, 1962, in Natchez, the son of Jessie and Beatrice Lewis. He was baptized at an early age and became a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the late James C. Anderson.
He was a 1980 graduate of North Natchez High School. Vernon worked offshore for a number of years. He enjoyed assisting his parents and family in any ways necessary and enjoyed spending countless hours with his little nephew, Ahmaud Jones, and his dog/best friend, “Tiger.”
Survivors include his parents; a loving and devoted companion, Ursula Hall; one son, Eric J. Hunt of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Jacquirria R. Dixon and KyErica V. Bernard of Natchez; one stepdaughter, Chelsea Hall of New Orleans; three brothers, Carlos Lewis and Carl Lewis and wife, Colleen, all of Baton Rouge, and Jessie Lewis Jr. and wife, Darlene, of New Orleans; three sisters, Debbie A. White and husband, Walter, and Brenda C. Bernard, all of Natchez, and Jeanette Jenkins of New Orleans; two special uncles, James Bernard Sr. of Natchez and Clayborn Lewis of Elberton, Ga.; one aunt, Jackie Sims of Milwaukee, Wis.; three special nephews, Tranthony C. Bernard of Ridgeland, Aadrain T. Bernard of Natchez and Rashad C. Lewis of Baton Rouge; four special nieces, LaTarsha S. Thomas and husband, Stephen, Nongula S. Bernard, Brandi T. Bernard and Candi S. Bernard, all of Natchez; three special friends, Rayshuron Phipps, Harold Smith Jr. and Ricky Marshall, all of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other devoted relatives and friends.
