NATCHEZ — Three students at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez were inducted recently into the Hall of Fame, the highest honor a student can achieve at the school.

They are Lisa Adams of Vidalia, Cain Madden of Natchez and Ashlea Rand of Natchez.

Co-Lin President Dr. Howell C. Garner announced the induction during the annual Awards Night April 15. Inductees do not know of their selection until the announcement.

Hall of Fame inductees are nominated by staff and students and selected by a joint staff/student committee.

Teresa Harrison, dean of the Natchez campus, said, “These students were chosen based on their commitment to academic excellence, good stewardship, community and college activities and high moral standards. We are proud that Cain, Ashlea and Lisa have joined others in the Co-Lin Hall of Fame.”

Adams, a graduate of Vidalia High School, is majoring in Medical Billing and Coding Technology. She is vice president of the National Technical Honor Society; reporter for the Natchez campus chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, a business club; a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society; a recipient of the E.A. Redd Memorial Scholarship, and a work study student in the Career and Technical Education Center office. Adams will graduate in May.

Madden, a home-school graduate, is news manager for N-Sights, the campus newspaper, and reporter for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He also is a member of the Mississippi Phi Theta Kappa All-USA Team, the Student Hospitality and Recruitment team, the yearbook staff, and the President’s Council. He is a general studies major who plans to return in the fall of 2008 to continue his studies at Co-Lin.

Rand, an Adams County Christian School graduate, is a nursing major; president of Student Hospitality and Recruitment, historian for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, a recipient of the Major T. Waring “Buddy” Bennett, Jr., Scholarship, sophomore homecoming maid and a member of the President’s Council and Baptist Student Union.

All three are honors students and were selected for inclusion in “Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.”
