Auburn blasts Ole Miss 18-4; clinches first SEC West title in 15 years

OXFORD (AP) — Brian Fletcher homered twice and drove in four runs to lead Auburn to an SEC West-clinching 18-4 victory over Mississippi on Friday night.
The Tigers (38-17, 19-10 Southeastern Conference) hit five home runs and secured their first Western Division title since 1995.
Ryan Jenkins went 4-for-6 with a home run and four RBIs for Auburn. Dan Gamache went 3-for-3 with a homer, two RBIs and a pair of walks. Kevin Patterson, whose pinch-hit homer won Friday’s game, hit another one.
Matt Snyder went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Rebels (36-19, 16-13) while Alex Yarbrough drove in a pair of runs.
Slade Smith pitched 5-2/3 innings of scoreless relief for the Tigers.
Auburn had already qualified for the SEC tournament for the first time since the 2003 season.
