DESTIN, Fla. (AP) — Southeastern Conference football coaches have voted to ask the league to support a proposed early signing period in late November.
The coaches voted 9-3 in favor of the move Wednesday. League presidents are expected to follow suit on Friday, clearing the SEC to present the proposal to the NCAA.
Basketball already has an early signing period.
The proposal would give prep prospects who have not taken any official visits one day before the start of the official contact period on Dec. 1 to sign a binding national letter of intent.
