NATCHEZ — Services for Anthony B. Tuccio, 88, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Tuccio was born April 2, 1923, in Natchez, the son of Sabitano Tuccio and Jennie Congemni Tuccio.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Basilica and Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II and a member of VFW. Mr. Tuccio was a long time Boy Scouts leader for Troop 158 and a member of Order of Arrow. He was known as “Papa” to many generations of scouts.
Mr. Tuccio was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Sam Tuccio; and two sisters, Mary Marotta and Annette Green.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Tuccio; four children, Anthony Tuccio and wife, Marty, Joseph Tuccio and wife, Diane, all of Natchez, John Tuccio and wife, Gloria, Elaine King and husband, John, all of Austin, Texas; one sister, Rose Blackwell and husband, Buddy, of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Rose Tuccio of New York; eight grandchildren, Andy Tuccio and wife, Jennifer, Guy Tuccio and wife, Misty, Gene Tuccio, Michelle Brown and husband, Adam, Evan King, Stephen King, Sam King and Nick Tuccio; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Drew, and Gianna Tuccio.
Pallbearers will be Andy Tuccio, Guy Tuccio, Gene Tuccio, Adam Brown, Duncan McFarlane, Phillip Trosclair and Sam King.
Memorials may be made to Cathedral School.
