JACKSON (AP) — Mississippi Democrats hold their state convention Saturday, and members will hear from their candidates running for federal offices.

Among the speakers are former Gov. Ronnie Musgrove, who is challenging Republican Roger Wicker for one of Mississippi’s U.S. Senate seats; and former state Rep. Erik Fleming, who is challenging longtime Republican incumbent Thad Cochran in a race for the other Senate seat.

U.S. Reps. Bennie Thompson and Travis Childers also are scheduled to speak.

The federal elections are Nov. 4.

The Democratic convention Saturday will be at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center at Jackson State University.

Party members will finish choosing their delegates for the Democratic National Convention, which will be held in late August in Denver.
