Salters elected to term on Mississippi Bankers board

Jackson— William M. Salters of Natchez has been elected to a three-year term on the Mississippi Bankers Association Board of Directors.
Salters will represent his area of the state on the board, which governs the 119-year-old association. MBA’s membership includes 103 commercial banks and savings institutions, representing 99 percent of the bank deposits in Mississippi.
Salters is executive vice president and chief financial officer at Britton & Koontz Bank, in Natchez, where he has worked for 15 years. He previously served as controller and loan administrator. He previously worked for Natchez First Federal Savings Bank, which merged with Britton & Koontz in 1993.
Salters earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master of business administration degree from Alcorn State University. He has furthered his banking education by completing the Executive Management School of Banking at the University of Georgia and other professional education courses.
Involved in the community, Salters is currently president of the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Foundation Board of Directors. He is also a director and past treasurer of the Natchez Chamber of Commerce, past chairman of Leadership Natchez, and past president of the Natchez Kiwanis Club.
Salters and his wife, the former Martha Carlisle, attend Parkway Baptist Church, where he is a deacon and a member of the choir. They have three adult daughters, Sydney Magee, Sarah Loy and Sunny McGehee, and four grandchildren, Skyler Magee, 10, Mylie Magee, 4, Will Loy, 3, and Macy Loy, 9 months.
