FERRIDAY — Services for Richard Elmo Ainsworth, 69, of Houma, La., formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Betty Turner Sanson and the Rev. Curt Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow at Dunbarton Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Ainsworth was born Aug. 7, 1942. He was retired from Johns-Manville of Natchez. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Ainsworth was an avid fan of the Louisiana State University Tigers and New Orleans Saints.

He was Baptist.

Mr. Ainsworth was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Juanita; and one sister, Ann.

Survivors include one daughter, Leathia Ann “Tiny” Cain and husband, James, of Houma; two sons, James William and wife, DD, of West Monroe, La., and Richard Kade and wife, Pam, of Ferriday; grandchildren, Tommy and Terri, Steven and Marlene, Dylan Parker, Erica and Amber Cain, Taylor, Alex, Michaela, Derick, Cayla and Caitlyn, Amanda, Jimmy and Christian; great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Ivana, Aryel and Tomilyn; one sister, Vinita May and husband, Danny, of Ferriday; one brother, Ray Ainsworth of West Monroe; three stepbrothers, Foster Britt and wife, Mary Jo, and Dwiana Emfinger and husband, Terry, all of Natchez, and Dany Britt and wife, Sadie, of Bogue Chitto; his children’s mother, Diann H. Turner and her husband, Red, of Vidalia; mother-in-law, Leathia Huff of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Parker, Dylan Parker, David Dobson Sr., Brett Harvey, Jackie Martin and Chris Hammons.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, nieces, nephews and son-in-law, James Cain.
