Fishing tourneys all over

There are several open bass tournaments scheduled this summer.
On August 2 the 4, the annual Bayou Cocodrie NWR Night Tournament will be held on Lake St. John.
Entry forms are available at Eddie’s Marine and the Sports Center in Natchez.
Fishing hours are from 7:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. So come join us on August 2nd for the annual Lake St. John night tournament. The very best way to keep our youth off the streets is to teach them to hunt and fish.
Proceeds from this event will help fund the annual youth hunt on the refuge. Eddie’s Marine and Tackle will be the host of this event and will conduct the weigh-in.
On August 23rd the 10th Annual M.D.A Benefit Team Bass Tournament hosted by McCartney Oil Company of Jena will cast off on the 4-Rivers out of Little River Park.
This is a good event held for a great cause. Muscular Dystrophy is a horrible disease attacking mostly young people.
Lonnie Ashley and I have conducted the weigh-in for 10 straight years and will continue to do such.
Entry forms are available at Eddie’s Marine and Tackle in Vidalia and the Sports Center in Natchez. In the past ten years we have raised well over one million dollars thanks to all the contestants and sponsors of the annual M.D.A. benefit tournament.
Last year the 4-Rivers produced a lot of fish and with all the high water we had this year I look for the 4-Rivers to once again produce a lot of bass.
I am currently working hard on yet another worthy tournament.
On September 13, Eddie’s Marine & Tackle in conjunction with the National Guard 1087th Transportation Company will host an open team bass tournament on Lake Concordia. The entry fee is $100 per team with an optional $20 big bass division.
There will be a tournament within this tournament.
The 3rd division requires at least one member of the military to be in the boat. The fee for this Military Division is $40 with a 100 percent payout.
This is not a fund raiser. The payout will be a good one and I am working on the entry forms now.
I’ll publish a list of military members that need a boater partner on my web site, FishingWithEddie.com.
I’ll have more information on this event and many others we have planned in future columns. If you any questions on any fishing event in this area just drop by or give us a call at 318-336-5133.
We can also tell you “where to go and what to throw”.
Have a great day.
