NATCHEZ — On the Fourth of July, a Vidalia man reportedly committed rape.
Ryan Joel Parker, 19, 385 Terry Circle, turned himself into the Natchez Police Department and was charged with rape and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Sgt. Craig Godbold said the alleged rape involved multiple underage girls at a local hotel.
“(There were) at least two girls, but we’re not quite sure,” Godbold said.
He said illegal substances were possibly involved.
“It was reported that alcohol and drugs may have been involved,” Godbold said.
The incident is reported to have taken place around 10 p.m. on July 4, Godbold said.
The two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor are tied in with the rape charge, he said.
“That stems from the same incident,” Godbold said.
Parker was released on a $31,500 bond — $30,000 for the rape charge, and $750 for each contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge.
A court date has not yet been set for Parker.
