NATCHEZ — A mother-son fight Thursday morning led to a minor cut and two arrests.
A call came in to the Natchez Police Department at 10 a.m. stating there was a fight on Watts Avenue.
Catherine Johnson, 64, 402 Watts Ave., and Percy Johnson Jr., 48, 402 Watts Ave., began their fight inside the house, according to Police Chief Mike Mullins.
“She advised he punched her in the face, and she started throwing his clothes out the door,” he said.
Mullins said when Percy Johnson allegedly threatened to hit his mother with a candleholder, she got a knife.
“He pushed her out of the door, knocked her on the ground and she got up and swung at him,” Mullins said, relaying eyewitness reports.
She caused a small laceration on his forearm and, according to eyewitnesses, he went back inside and got a knife, as well, Mullins said.
Mullins said Catherine Johnson suffered from injuries, as well.
Police officers and an ambulance arrived on the scene and Percy Johnson was transported to Natchez Community Hospital via ambulance where he was treated and released.
Catherine Johnson and Percy Johnson were both arrested and charged with simple assault, domestic violence.
No bond will be set until arraignment.
