FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man is in jail due largely to a piece of tape.
Sylvester Prophet, 51, 607 S. Eighth St., was arrested on charges of receiving of stolen things Thursday.
Prophet was reportedly in possession of an air conditioner that had been stolen from another man’s window when the man who owned the air conditioner saw him and recognized it as his own, Ferriday Investigator Johnny Evans said.
“He recognized it because of some tape he had on the cord,” Evans said. “After checking it out, it was determined the air conditioner did belong to that subject.”
Prophet’s bond was set at $281.
