NATCHEZ — WTYJ/WMIS announcers fared well at the recent Jackson Music Awards.

Winners included:

4Dalton Hill (D Hill of the Hilltop) — Mississippi Statewide Disc Jockey of the Year

4Latasha Denise Clark (Denise in the Morning) — runner up for Mississippi Gospel Radio Announcer of the Year

The 2008 winners join previous local winners, for Radio Announcer of the year, George Lee (G Lee,) Walter J. Squalls, Calvin Butler (Jyrod Buford,) Darrell White (Mr. Melody), and runner up Leon Hollins (Late Night Leon.)

Previous winners in the Gospel Radio Announcer of the Year category were, Mary Griffin (Mary G), Jennifer Minor (Lady J,) Jerome Myles (J Myles) and Henry Davis (Gospel Slim.)
