More wedding bells among good news

With the start of school mere days away for many Miss-Lou students, it’s time to start looking to the year ahead.
New classes, new teachers and new school supplies are on the agenda, and with those things comes the potential for a blackboard full of good news.
But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s review some of the good news from last week.
4 Donations and tour money is funding a three-tiered project at the Natchez Association for the Preservation of African American Culture Museum.
Renovations and new projects at NAPAC will make the museum an even better place to remember our history.
4 If you are looking to take your wedding on the road, what better place is there than on the grounds of a gorgeous antebellum home? For years now Natchez has marketed itself as a destination wedding spot, and last week, the city hosted the Mississippi Development Authority’s Department of Tourism and Bridal Guide magazine 2008 Bridal Symposium.
The group came to town with money to spend, but they left with Natchez in mind as a great wedding spot.
4 Emergency notifications are catching up with our teenagers.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has a new way to let residents know when bad weather is coming — text message.
An automated system can send alerts to your home phone, cell phone or e-mail. Keeping our residents safe should be MEMA’s top priority, and we are glad they are working with the technology available.
Now, let’s get ready for the first day of school, and a great year ahead of us all.
