VIDALIA — A 36-year-old Vidalia man was reportedly threatened with a screwdriver, kicked and beaten early Saturday in an apparent armed robbery.
The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two Vidalia men in connection with the incident.
Patrick T. McGraw, 23, and Quancy J. Hawkins, 19, were charged with armed robbery Saturday.
The men reportedly stole $29 in cash from their victim near a U.S. 84 convenience store before fleeing to a silver SUV, a sheriff’s office release says.
The CPSO received a call of a fight in progress.
Deputy Stephen Karabelen spotted the suspects at the end of Louisiana 3180 running a stop sign and making a left turn toward Martin Luther King Boulevard in Vidalia.
The deputy stopped the vehicle, which was also occupied by two juveniles. The cash was reportedly found on the floorboard.
The juveniles were released to their parents’ custody.
The robbery victim was transported to Riverland Medical Center after complaining of chest pains.
