RIDGECREST — A Ferriday man is dead and his girlfriend is behind bars on charges that she fatally stabbed him Sunday night.
Crystal M. Gordon, 19, 114 Brook St., Ferriday, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after she allegedly stabbed Alex Promise Jr., 27, of Ferriday, once in the chest with a kitchen knife.
The two had reportedly just left their Brook Street residence, and were arguing inside a vehicle at the time of the stabbing, according to a statement from the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle the incident allegedly happened in which was reportedly parked near 100 Woodmount St., where Gordon’s grandmother lives.
The sheriff’s office responded to the call at 6:24 p.m.
Gordon later reportedly told CPSO investigators the stabbing was self-defense, and the knife that officials believe was used in the stabbing was reportedly found in the mud behind Gordon’s grandmother’s residence, officials said. No bond was set for Gordon Monday.
