RUSTON, La. — Services for Marvin E. Higginbotham Jr., 86, of Ruston, who died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Methodist Church in the Burkhalter Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Visitation will be from 9:30 Monday until service time at the chapel.
Higginbotham, who was affectionately known as Bud, was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Waterproof, La, the son of Marvin E. Higginbotham and Louise Seaman Higginbotham.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lancaster Higginbotham; son, John H. Laughlin Jr and wife Faith of Roxie; great grandson Will Laughlin of Roxie; brother Scotty Robertson and wife Betty Lou of Ruston; sister-in-law Edna “Tut” Lancaster of St. Joseph, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Miller, Mike Chennault, Rob Lancaster, Mack Lancaster, Bob Seaman, Davide Seaman, and Patrick Daniel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Colin Seaman and Trinity United Methodist Church R.O.M.E.O. group.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Methodist Children’s Home, Louisiana Tech Foundation or the charity of your choice.
