WCCA announces class officers

Woodville — The first week of the 2008-2009 school year was filled with excitement and optimism at Wilkinson County Christian Academy.
The new year meant excitement over a new playground. Long hours of fundraising and physical labor led to the new facility. The WCCA students and staff appreciate the generous contributions, hard work and the gourmet coffee bar.
David Littleton supervised the installation process.
WCCA’s 2008-2009 junior class officers are: president — Alyssa Ashley, vice president — Sam Pace, secretary — Taylor Vines, treasurer — Todd LaPrairie, reporter — Erin O’Leary.
The 2008-2009 sophomore class officers are: president — Heather Buzbee, vice president — Douglas Whitehead, secretary — Damenise Woodfork, treasurer — Nathan Miller, assistant treasurer — Lily Smith, reporter — Sarah Hendry.
WCCA welcomed new teachers — Amy Wells in high school math and Amanda Kirkland as the new guidance counselor.
Ram football begins its season with a home game against ACCS. Kickoff time is 7.
Upcoming events are
Aug. 21 — JV football at ACCS at 6 p.m.
Aug. 22 — Rams football WCCA will play ACCS at home at 7 p.m.
Aug. 25 — Lady Rams Softball at ACCS at 4 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
Aug. 26 — Lady Rams Softball at WCCA against Huntington at 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
