VIDALIA — A Clayton man is facing vehicular homicide charges after a one-vehicle crash left a Ridgecrest man dead late Friday night.
William M. Robertson, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene, a Louisiana State Police release said.
Henry R. Reinninger, 53, was driving a 1992 Geo Metro on Boggy Bayou Road in Concordia Parish when he reportedly ran the vehicle off the road just after 11 p.m.
Reinninger was transported to Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, with minor injuries. Reinninger and Robertson were both restrained at the time of the crash.
A state police investigation revealed that Reinninger was impaired at the time of the crash, the release says. Subsequent Reinninger’s release from the hospital, he was taken into custody and transported to the Concordia Parish Correctional facility where he was booked for operating a vehicle while intoxicated — second offense, careless operation and vehicular homicide.
The crash remains under investigation.
