FAYETTE — Services for Mary Eliza Porter Felton, 79, of Vidalia, formerly of Adams County, who died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church in Stampley.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Felton was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Adams County, the daughter of Annie Maria Herring and George Porter. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and served on the Mother Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L.C. Felton; one sister, Georgia M. Doss; and one brother-in-law, Henry Doss Jr.
Survivors include one son, Tommie Felton and wife, Hattie; three granddaughters, Nicole, Stephanie and Jennifer Felton, all of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one grandson, Aundrae Felton and wife, Sharon, of Murfresboro, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Titus Norwood and Daysia Felton, both of Stone Mountain; three nieces, Carolyn Jackson and husband, Monroe, Joyce Smith, all of Roxie, and JoAnn Grayson of Champagne, Ill.; four nephews, Robert Doss and wife, Emma, of Natchez, Lee Doss and wife, Brenda, of Fayette, David Doss and wife, Mary, of Meadville and Alex Doss and wife, Betty, of Roxie; one stepson, August Marshall Jr. of Roxie; special friends, the Durkins family, Irma Ivory and husband, Willis, Mattie Lewis and Davis Sims, all of Vidalia; and a number of other relatives and friends.
