NATCHEZ — Electricity was restored to portions of Concordia Parish late Tuesday evening opening up several gas stations.
In Mississippi however, access to gas was limited at press time.
No gas stations in Adams County were selling gasoline, and many neighboring towns are without fuel also.
Meadville has no gas, Alexandria, La., has some and Vicksburg’s gas stations are open, but the amount of fuel they have left is uncertain.
Before electricity was restored iin Concordia Parish, Sally Durkin, media liaison for the Natchez Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the closest sure-fire place gas can be obtained is in Winnsboro.
Charles Zucarro, owner of Independent Oil Company agreed.
Adams County Board of Supervisors President Henry Watts said he is concerned about residents being able to fuel up.
He said Sen. Roger Wicker is scheduled to come to Adams County this afternoon to address the situation.
