NATCHEZ — A domestic dispute turned violent Tuesday night and Darnell A. Houseworth, 19, 111 Ann Holden Lane, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly pistol-whipping Kenneth Carver.
When Natchez Police officer, Vince Bates arrived at 111 Ann Holden Lane, Carver was “bleeding profusely from the face and head area,” the police report said.
Carver then told Bates that Houseworth hit him with something. Carver was transferred to Natchez Community Hospital with a broken jaw and a broken nose.
However, Houseworth told police that the event was started when Kenneth Carver hit Houseworth’s mother, Mia Carver.
“Darnell went outside and asked his dad Kenneth why he hit his mother,” the report said. “At that time Darnell said he got angry and hit Kenneth in the face with a 380 Hi-Point handgun… and a second time on the back of his head.”
“Mr. Carver was not charged with anything yet,” Natchez Police Sgt. Craig Godbold said. “We’re still trying to wade through it.”
However, there have been many domestic violence calls between Mia and Kenneth Carver.
“We have had numerous complaints at that house,” Godbold said.
Houseworth turned himself into police and brought the gun with him. He is being held awaiting bond.
