Early voting for Oct. 4 election begins today

VIDALIA — Early voting for the Oct. 4 election begins today at the Concordia Parish Registrar of Voter’s office.

Voting will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will resume Monday through Saturday during the same hours.

On the ballot are the races for Seventh Judicial District Court district attorney and division “A” court judge.

Also on the ballot are the races for public service commissioner, the third circuit court of appeals and local district justices of the peace and constables.

Because it was postponed due to Hurricane Gustav, the Republican primary for Louisiana’s fifth congressional district will be on the ballot. That election was originally set for Sept. 6.

To vote in person, a valid, generally recognized picture ID such as a driver’s license or a Louisiana Special ID is required
