It is not often our public officials are thanked for the services they provide to our community.

Therefore, I will use this forum to publically thank Chief Mike Mullins and Cmmdr. Daniel White of the Natchez Police Department for planning and organizing the recent National Night Out activities.

Chief Mullins and Cmmdr. White, along with officers under their command, are serving our communities with diligence, competency and genuine concern for the safety and security of the citizens of Natchez.

Citizens of all ages from multiple streets in our Neighborhood Watch Area turned out to meet, greet, enjoy music and a meal with familiar and new acquaintances during the National Night Out.

It was an experience all enjoyed and many positive comments were received from our citizens. Many want to gather more often as a result of the positive outcome.

I also wish to thank Mrs. Darlene Jones, community development director for the City of Natchez, and Cmmdr. Daniel White for their support and guidance in assisting with the development of our Neighborhood Watch Program.

Both of these individuals are passionate about what they do and  believe in.

Chief Mullins, Cmmdr. White and Mrs. Jones are assets to the City of Natchez.  Thank you.
