Elaine Maxwell dies at 79; visitation today

VIDALIA — Elaine Maxwell, the mother of Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell, died Thursday morning at age 79.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Fairpark Baptist Church in West Monroe, La., and burial will follow at Wilhite Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Fairpark Baptist Church.
Elaine Maxwell was born Nov. 2, 1930, in West Monroe. For more than 40 years she was the owner and operator of Elaine’s Plants and Flowers.
She was passionate about gardening, and at one time she served as the president of the Louisiana Florist Association.
Survivors include her son, Randy Maxwell and wife, Roselinda; one daughter, Lydia Hearn and husband, Russell; two grandsons, Jason Maxwell and Russ Hearn; two granddaughters, Nicole Creighton and Sharon Hipp, and a number of great-grandchildren.
