Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson and the city’s Board of Aldermen presented Willie B. Jones with a plaque honoring him on his retirement from the city. Jones’ family and a number of his church family joined Jones on stage for a photo at Tuesday night’s city meeting. Jones retired from his position as a bailiff in Municipal Court. However, Jones also served at one time as a city police officer and was and Adams County constable for eight years. (Jan Griffey | The Natchez Democrat)
