FERRIDAY – Funeral services for Debra Wilson-Mayes, 59, of Ferriday, who passed peacefully with family at her bedside on Jan. 21, 2025, will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at New Morning Star Baptist Church, Ferriday, with Pastor Danny Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the service time, at the church.

Debra Wilson was born on Dec. 17, 1965, in Ferriday, the daughter of Floyd and Willie Mae Wright Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Deville Murphy, Jr.; and one brother, Lawrence Wilson.

Debra leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband, Jerry Mayes, Sr., of Ferriday; two sons, Gary Mayes, and wife, Ariyouna, of Addis, LA, and Jerry D. Mayes, and wife, Brea Pillette, of Vacharie, LA; two sisters, Ulandia Jefferson, and Cora Lewis, both of Ferriday; fourteen grandchildren; three good friends, Jackie Keigler, and Valerie Brown, both of Ferriday and Rhonda, of Natchez; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
