NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Emogene Johnson, 68, of Natchez, who passed away on Jan. 10, 2025, at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at New Hope “The Vision Center” Baptist Church at 11 a.m., under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation services will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez, and on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the service time at the church.

Emogene, affectionately known as “Gene”, was born in Natchez on Dec. 1, 1956, to Mose Johnson Jr. and Johana Butler Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mose Jr. and Johana Johnson; four siblings, Stellastine Anderson, Mose Johnson, Richard Johnson, and Ernest Johnson; two nephews, Tyrone Anderson and John Anderson; and one great nephew, Tre’Von Washington.

Emogene “Gene” leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Teraniesee (Keldrick Jackson) Johnson; two sons, Keitherick (Jacqueline) Johnson and Tyran (Linda Duck) Johnson; four sisters, JoAnn (Eugene) Brown, Shirley (Hirley) Nash, Melva (Aubrey) Devalt and Tywanna (Clarence) Jones; four brothers, Jesse Johnson, Jerry (Patricia) Johnson, Joseph Johnson and Henry (Cassandra) Johnson; nine grandchildren, Allennia Shelby, Kevontae Stewart, Tyric Johnson, Tamera Johnson, Tyneria Robinson, Kaylee Johnson, Keenan Jackson, Kaisley Johnson, and Isabella Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relative,s and friends.
