NATCHEZ — As weather conditions change, “The rules of the road do not,” Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said Monday ahead of expected snow, sleet and freezing rain forecasted for the area overnight.

“As the community braces for extreme weather, please get all the emergency supplies needed today because road conditions are subject to change tomorrow. As conditions change, the rules of the road do not. This means that ATVs, four-wheelers, side-by-sides, etc. will still not be allowed on city streets, county roads or state highways. We are asking that you save yourself a tow bill and stay off the roadways with these types of all-terrain vehicles. Thanks in advance for your understanding in this matter and stay safe.”

He added that anyone in need of immediate assistance may call 911.
