Natchez man arrested for father’s death at Lake Saint John residence

FERRIDAY, La. — Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for the murder of his father in the Lake Saint John area on Wednesday.
Authorities reportedly responded to a 911 call at 7:21 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 569 in Ferriday. Deputies found 57-year-old Barry Rhodes fatally injured.
Investigators spoke with the 911 caller who was at the residence about what had happened. Shortly after his son Ryan Rhodes, 33, of Natchez was taken into custody and booked into Concordia Parish Correctional Facility. He has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated battery.
CPSO stated in a news release that this is an ongoing investigation and no other details are available at this time. Autopsy results are still pending.
Sheriff David Hedrick said he is saddened by this unnecessary tragedy and asked the community to keep the victim’s family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.
Anyone arrested is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
