FERRIDAY – Homegoing services for Rose Mary Metcalf, 81, of Ferriday, who passed on Jan. 6, 2025, at Trinity Medical Center in Ferriday, will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Concordia Funeral Home.

Rose Mary Metcalf was born on July 16, 1943, in Clayton, LA, the daughter of Willie Metcalf and Mary Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Willie Metcalf, and Howard Metcalf; some good friends, Gregory Griggs, and Alderman Elijah Calhoun; and her friend, like a sister, Betty Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her four sons, Terrell Jones of Ferriday, LaMark Jones of Clayton, LA, Shelvey Jones, and David Shorter, both of Cartersville, GA; three daughters, Beveryly Metcalf, Cynthia Metcalf, both of Ferriday, and Terri Turner of Cartersville, GA; one brother, Dexter Johnson of  Ferriday; one sister, Patsy Johnson of Ferriday; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her real good friends, Dennis Laine of Las Vegas, NV, Gloria Lloyd, Terry Gregory, Amelia Banks, and Elnora Griggs, all of Ferriday; and many other relatives and friends.
