NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Jalen Lamarion Griffin, 21, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, in Natchez, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at 2: 30 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Sibley with Pastor Douglas Logan officiating.

Burial will follow at the St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Jalen was born on Dec. 13, 2003, in Natchez, the son of Alena Brown and Lamarcus Griffin. He was a graduate of Natchez High School and was employed in construction and concrete laying. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing basketball, taking care of his dogs, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Edna Griffin Blanton; and cousin, Terriana Thompson.

Jalen leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Alena Brown and Lamarcus Griffin; step-father, Tyrone Goodin; fur-babies, Nova and Bella; brother, Tyrone Goodin Jr.; sisters, Alexiah Goodin “Lex,” and Makiah Goodin; grandparents, Vinnie Brown and Arthur Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
