AGENDA: Vidalia Alderman to discuss, vote on bid for slough pump station

VIDALIA, La. — The Vidalia Board of Aldermen plans to discuss financial business on Tuesday during its regular board meeting, including whether to award a $1.5 million bid on the Vidalia slough pumping station project.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. at Vidalia City Hall.

According to the town’s agenda, the aldermen plan to discuss whether to award the Vidalia slough pumping station project to Camo Construction Company.

According to Louisiana Bid Network, bids for the project were solicited and opened in October 2024. Camo Construction Company Inc. was the low bidder on the project with a bid of $1,546,541 with an option to add an alternate of $135,135.

Greenbriar Digging Service LP submitted a bid of $2,359,175 with an alternate bid of $132,000.

The board’s financial business also includes an intergovernmental agreement with Vidalia City Court for the reimbursement of expenses paid by the town for the operation of the court.

In other business, the board has on its agenda whether to participate in the Local Government Assistance Program (LGAP) and Community Water Enrichment Fund for the 2024-2025 fiscal year and whether to approve an outdoor sign application from Bayou Bliss Gifts and Candle at 1108 Carter St., Suite 2.

The board also has on its agenda an executive session to discuss possible litigation. Executive sessions are not open to the public or to the media.
