CPSO makes additional arrest in conjunction with federal drug trafficking investigation in parish

FERRIDAY, La. — The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office recently arrested another individual with a federal warrant suspected of trafficking drugs to the parish.

This latest arrest coincides with a joint-agency effort on Dec. 12 that in total has led to 25 individuals being arrested on drug charges, CPSO states.

The CPSO Narcotics Unit received information on Jan. 2, 2025, that Kentrell Madison, who had an active federal warrant, was at a residence in Ferriday.

Upon making contact with Madison, CPSO obtained a state warrant to search the residence. The search produced heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, ecstasy, unidentified pills, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and cash. Madison was taken into custody without incident.

“Thanks to the assistance of The United States Attorney’s Office (Western District of Louisiana) and the FBI, this most recent arrest totals 25 individuals suspected of supplying drugs in the parish who have been arrested in less than a month,” Sheriff David Hedrick said. “We will continue to focus on drug crimes throughout the parish and do everything possible to keep dealers off of our streets.”

The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office made 11 additional arrests on CPSO warrants in conjunction with 13 federal warrants that were served on Dec. 12, 2024.

Madison, 42, of Ferriday is charged with the manufacture and distribution of schedule II drugs; possession of schedule II drugs; possession of schedule I drugs; possession of schedule II drugs with intent to distribute and possession of firearm with controlled substances.

Anyone arrested is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
