Man charged with murder in death of woman who fell from Bluff Sunday night

NATCHEZ — Natchez Police have arrested a man for murder in the death of Jacqueline Denise Scott, 39, of Ferriday, Louisiana, who died after falling from the Natchez Bluff on Sunday night.
Police Chief Caroline Green said Corted Kildrick Smith, 51, has been charged with murder in Scott’s death. She fell from the Bluff near Clifton Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.
Adams County Coroner James Lee reported he received a call on Sunday at approximately 9:35 p.m. about the incident. He said Scott fell between 50 to 70 feet to her death.
Smith is being held without bond pending arraignment, Green said.
She would not release any other information about the case, which is still under investigation.
