NATCHEZ — Natchez Police officials have released the name of the woman who died after falling from the top of the Natchez Bluff Sunday night.
Natchez Police Chief Caroline Green said the victim is Jacqueline Denise Scott, 39, of Ferriday, Louisiana.
Green said the death is being investigated.
“We will make no determination about the cause of death until we hear the results of the autopsy from the Crime Lab,” Green said.
Adams County Coroner James Lee said he got the call about the incident at approximately 9:35 p.m. on Sunday. Scott fell 50 to 70 feet to her death, Lee said.
“This was a tragedy above tragedies,” Lee said. “My condolences to her family during this difficult time and season.”
